  • Must be able to perform manual labor involving a variety of building maintenance tasks including cleaning floors, windows, restrooms, emptying trash, sweeping decks and sidewalk, picking up trash on grounds and breaking down and setting up tables and chair
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • $7.42 - $10.99
  • Variable work schedule 8-10 hours or less per week primarily weekend and evening work

 

PT Recreation Facility Attendant

Job Summary
Minimum Requirements

  • Performs opening and closing procedures of the facility as assigned
  • Responds to public inquiries concerning programs
  • Performs a variety of maintenance duties
  • Enforces facility rules and regulations
  • Experience in customer relations, facility maintenance, and recreation preferred

First Aid and CPR preferred

Maintenance Worker II

Job Summary
Minimum Requirements
Salary Range Shift/Hours
  • Works on a crew to patch potholes and re-surface streets; assists with construction and repair of sidewalks, curb and gutter, and driveway aprons; constructs and cleans out storm sewer; digs drainage ditches.
  • Performs a variety of maintenance tasks such as operating mowers for cutting grass in rights-of-way, cemeteries, or public grounds, using power hand equipment; removing leaves and debris; trimming shrubbery, and clearing and landscaping ground
  • Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in maintaining and repairing streets, drainage systems, sidewalks, and driveways; erects street signs
  • Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in building cleaning, maintenance and repair. Assists in the more complex repair jobs.
  • Operates construction equipment including trucks, dump trucks, rollers, tractors, loaders, and other medium and light equipment.
  • The employees are subject to hazards associated with public works including working in both inside and outside environments, and in extreme hot and cold weather
  • High school graduate or GED
  • NC Driver License
  • $10.45/hr. - $15.47/hr.

 

Police Officer

  • Performs general duty law enforcement work to protect life and property in the City. Work includes patrolling the City during assigned shift in a police car or on foot; preventing, detecting and investigating disturbances and crime; performing traffic control work; apprehending suspects; and executing related assignments.

  • Basic Law Enforcement Certification or currently enrolled in BLET.
  • NC Driver License

PT Civic Center Facility Attendant

Job Summary

  • Performs opening and closing procedures of the facility as assigned
  • Performs a variety of duties to ensure the maintenance, neatness, cleanliness, and safety of facilities and adjacent grounds and parking lot including mopping up spills, picking up litter or debris, emptying trash and related activities
  • Ensures the safety of individuals and security of facilities; evaluates and takes appropriate action to correct unusual situation including fights, thefts, vandalism, behavior problems, code violations, etc
  • Provides information and assistance to users of the facility; educates patrons on rules and regulations
  • Enforces rules and regulations, City Code, facility rules, etc. for use of the facility
  • Monitors buildings, grounds and equipment, reports needed repairs
  • Performs simple problem solving techniques in maintenance of HVAC, PA, facility lighting, and irrigation systems of the facility; sets up Audio Visual equipment
  • Stocks restrooms with paper products and soap

 

 

 

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • $9.48/hr. - $14.04/hr.
